KX raw pictures all in red shed

Hi,
I got me a KX to add on to my k-7. Everything is fine but when I take raw pictures they all come in red shed as if I used a red filter. What is going on?

Pictures (with EXIF intact) or everything is fine.

Pictures with the EXIF would help as noted above.

It could be your white balance is set incorrectly or possibly you have an in camera filter turned on?

Both pictures taken same time one in jpeg and the other in Raw (dng).
they look fine in the KX playback but when downloaded in iPhoto or Aperture, the red shows in the RAW.

When was the last time you updated your RAW converter?

I bet your software is from before the K-x, and it is not converting the file correctly.

My software updates all show up to date .... is there a way to update RAW converter other than via general software update?

I'm having this kind of problem more and more (I use the latest Aperture on a mac with all up to date patches). I have the latest RAW converter, and yet about maybe 5% of my images have this kind of problem but even more extreme, so bad I can't fix it in post as the WB correction required is off the scale of the sliders. My other 95% of shots are fine.

It gets frustrating though as sometimes that 5% has a shot I really like and would prefer colour over black and white.

So I don't have a solution, but is this happening for all your shots or just some? Are you shooting DNG or PEF?

Not sure if our problems are related then .... hmmm. Maybe try PEF?

I'm having to switch to RAW+JPEG because of this problem. It's frustraing because DNG is an open format, so I'm not sure what the excuse is for Apple to be screwing this up.

So therefore it is an issue with how your installation of Aperture handles K-x RAW.

Maybe try Picasa, or Lightroom 3 or Photoshop/ACR 6.2, which handles all forms of K-x RAW with no problems.

Pentax KX ... Aperture handles DNG fine except for the KX
I cant afford to buy a photo processing software for Pentax K-7 and another one for a Pentax KX
