1. You need a camera that works with wireless flash (eg. K100D doesn't). Then set the flash mode on the dial to wireless (the flash symbol with the letter W).
2. Set the on camera flash to Master.
3. Turn your flash to wireless (the middle setting between Off and On).
4. Set your wireless flash to Slave.
5. Happy shooting!

Take care,

Peter

DA L lens doesn't have a manual aperture ring. Thus it is, technically, in the A (auto/camera controlled) position all the time.

What kind of range in various conditions are you guys seeing with your onboard flash for triggering?

I've used mine up to 25 feet, even out of line of site (slave in another room).

I've only tested up to approx 2.5-3 metres and sometimes get limited success on firing a slave with it too.

I really find the K-x onboard flash a pretty useless appendage, lacking power and mainly because it's uni-directional - so I bought a cheap Yongnuo YN-460 for onboard which can point directly at another offboard flash for obtaining more reliable and positive optical response and far less slave misfires.

The K-x not having any PC type port for wired connections use (ext flash, add-on shutter timers/intervalometers, etc) turns an otherwise OK decent low-end camera into one of very serious limitation for me.

You can readily get cheap aftermarket goodies that do those things with low-end consumer level Canon and Nikon, because their camera has the basic in/outputs -- I'm starting to believe Pentax thinks their buyers are dumb idiots.

Hi alejandro,

If you jump to about page 162 and read on from there what you need to setup and use for external (slave) of your 360FGZ will all be covered.

Nb: Don't be afraid to follow the instructions exactly and, if you fiddle with some setting(s) that DON'T work, then immediately put it back to where it was and start on another track.

Done some tests one evening with my K7 & Sigma 530 super... I stopped at 10m (don't know how that translate in those strange yards/feet measures!), because I was lazy. The flash slaved each time...
