Upset my K-7

My K-7 broke. it happened today. I found out that mirror up broke. it won't AF and F steps. I tried to fix mirror up to down but it not work.
maybe send it to Pentax Service.

Yeah call up pentax....see what they can do, is it under warranty?

Maybe it self destructed based on the new K-5 out now (Joking :-P)

Its actually not too bad.
Assuming nothing much else broke, its one of the easier things to fix inside the camera.
They'll probably replace the mirror assembly, and doesn't cost that much for a current production model like the K-7, if I recall correctly. You'll be without your camera for a while, though.

Its a bit messier for a discontinued model...sometimes its not worth the repair.

It cost me $292. I guess I will get it in few weeks.

well AF can't work when the mirror is up so that isn't a mallfunction. Shutter maybe blocket true the mirror problem.

Can you switch to live view?

Good question but I didn't test for LV.

I got my K-7 from UPS yesterday. I am happy with it. I checked PhotoME for shutter counter. it is 60. Last time about 35,000.
Perfect on time for my little son Danny's birthday today. He is 7 years old. We have a birthday party tonight.

great news! did they send you a different body? or they just changed the part?

I looked serial number and same camcera I guess new parts.
