K-7, Auto ISO doesn't work?

In all exposure modes except TAv, the value of ISO does't change under different lighting condition and needs to be manually adjusted. Is this so called Pentax user defined Auto ISO? Or there's some setting I didn't pre-set correctly? The K20d I had didn't seem to operate this way.

First check to make sure you really have set Auto-ISO, on the viewfinder.
Check the Auto-ISO range you have set.
Then check your firmware # Number.

Yes, the K-7's Auto ISO works, and works best under Firmware V1.10. Pentax seems to have been tweaking the logic along the way.

Auto-ISO has 3 "flavours" which you can set in the Auto-ISO screen.
In lighting bright enough to give flexibility in ISO setting -
Slow will tend to select the lowest ISO, which will give you rather slow shutter speeds.
Normal will tend to select ISO to match Hand-Held shutter speeds, depending on lighting conditions.
Fast will tend to set High- ISO

Under very bright or very dim light, Auto ISO will tend to select either Minimum or Maximum High ISO to match the lighting conditions.

Do you mean that the ISO is not showing "Auto", or that it does not change when so set? For the former, try holding down the ISO button and press the green button. For the latter...all I can say is that mine works. But it might not do so in all modes.

Thanks...
1. In the viewfinder...doesn't indicate ISO Auto
2. ISO range 200-1600
3. Firmware 1.10

I believe the problem is "1"...but can't seem to figure it out how to set ISO to Auto. Any tip would be appreciated.

Press and hold ISO button and press Green button.

BTW, Pentax included User Manual with your K-7 with some purpose, right?

Hey, thanks. This forum is more helpful than the manual...you just proved it.
