Did you know this about your Pentax camera?

When you're reviewing images and zoom out to the overview page (where you can see 9 photos at the same time), when you press Fn, you can choose a different lay-out (2x2, 3x3 or 4x4). I never knew this! I just accidently pressed the Fn button and saw a menu pop up I had never seen before

(I have a K10D, by the way)

I am not sure to follow. Do you use PDCU Browser ? Pressing the Fn key in PDCU with Windows XP SP3 has no use.
???

I have absolutely no clue what you're talking about, but I was talking about my camera

Thanks. Your original message did not mention explicitely that you were viewing in-camera. (I thought wrongly that you were working on computer using PDCU.)

@hcc: The title of the OP's post explicitly mentions Pentax camera -
cool feature when you want to look a bit closer at a range of images - am changing the display to 2x2 as I type.

Yeah, newer models don't have that button. Perhaps it's buried in the menus somewhere?

Excellent! Never knew but I am going to try and see if this works on my K20D as well. I'd love to have 2x2 rather than the tiny 6x6

Thanks Kevin!

Newer cameras use info-button. I think all Pentax DSLR show available options below thumbnails.

i guess many pentax users don't know this, i discovered it by chance: while in manual mode and with meter on, press the exposure lock button and then turn one of the dials. guess what happens...? i find it very useful at times
i have a k10d but it should work also on other models i think

That is just plan awesome. I shoot manual 95% of the time so I will come in handy.

Being able to change the number of thumbnails in on camera review is also a nice touch.

Maybe we need to start a thread on undocumented features.

I don't think thumbnail options or hyper-manual features are undocumented. It's just that most DSLR has so many options/features, it's easy to miss a few.

Another feature I like in hyper-manual is that you can choose if camera will set aperture or shutter speed (or both) when pressing green button.

Thanks for the tip. The K7 can be set to show up to 81 images at a time! That's right 9 rows up and 9 rows down. They're pretty tiny but the resolution of the LCD is good enough to host them all at once. The Kx can be set to show 6 x 6 for a total of 36 images at once - that's not bad - but not as mind blowing as seeing 81 on the K7.
