K10D and 135 2.8 A problem.....

I cannot get my K10D to go below 5.6 in any setting on A, but it is still shooting "wide open". Is there a problem I am unaware of in my settings? I have fire in other than A set in the custom menu.

I don't think there are any settings that would limit the aperture settings but have you tried cleaning the contacts on the lens? Usually a soft pencil eraser can get them clean and just be careful not to get any dirt inside the lens.

it sounds like a problem with the contacts on the lens mount, or an open in the switch on the lens, for the A position

if you are shooting wide open it is because the camera thinks it is a K mount.

try taking the lens out of automatic, and also mount and dismount the lens
