I am no pro what so ever, but I do have a DS, and I'm pretty sure the answer is no, the sensor it's self is the item you want to know about and it's made up of small square light sensitive bits and pieces ( remember I'm no pro) and you can't over clock it, it isn't a speed thing like a cpu, it is at it's maximum, I don't think that you could fit a larger MP sensor in it's place, if only camera's were that simple. the only way that I know of getting a bigger MP out of your DS is to sell it and put the money on for a newer model with bigger MP. Sorry to be the berer of bad news, but for my first dslr, it's great, learn it inside and out so when you can finally get a newer camera you'll know everything you'll need to know.
