Camera Lens Rentals came through for me recently. I had a live concert video to shoot in Folsom, Ca. We were set for 10/10/10, and I of course waited till the two weeks before to decide that I needed the Sigma 8-16 for a super wide video angle. Nobody had it for rent, and I didn't have it in the budget to buy...yet. So I called them up. Barry said that if that's really what I needed he would order it from B&H, and have it drop-shipped to me in time for the shoot. I told him if he could do that I'd definitely let all you guys know how incredible they are! I've been waiting to post anything till I had some footage ok'd from the director, but that won't happen till Dec. So I'll just boast about them in this thread till I can post some footage. BTW I was the only Pentax in the bunch. 6 DLSR's. 4 Canon 5d mkII's, 1 7d, and my modified Pentax Kx with a Sigma 8-16 mostly and my Super Takumar 50/1.4 on some B roll stuff. I would not have used the Kx had it not been 24p.
I just saw that lens on there, and was surprised to see it, as I knew it was a new item. That's a fantastic story.

Yes, indeed. I have rented from them only 3 tmes in the last 3 years, but every time they were great. The first time I rented a 16-50, 50-135, and wanted the 200. They said they didn't have it, but would give me the 300 for the same price for the inconvenience. I've always had my rentals arrive a day or 2 early, for which they don't charge extra. Can't say enough good about them!

Yet another plug. Used them twice and great both times. Can't say enough good things about them.

You know I was only recently surprised at what I have now deemed as the relatively low cost of renting lenses. I somehow expected the price to be a bit higher than what it is. Looking through this site, as only one example, makes me less afraid of renting. May rent a DA 55-300 or 18-250 sometime just for fun.

Yeah all I can give Barry and his crew is thumbs up all the way. The only thing I was he could get is some longer/faster lenses. But that might be just me who is wanting that. A couple of fixed 500 or 750 would be nice.

Thanks
Jim

I won't be renting a body from them, but I was thinking of renting a lens or two to try with my K-5. Here's another plug for cameralensrentals.com, as I've had nothing but good experiences with them. In fact, I think they should be a sponsor on this site for all the traffic we send there way
+1. I've rented from them and love them! They are the only ones who cater (that I know of) to us Pentaxians!
