cameralensrentals.com

Well from what I understand cameralensrentals will be getting their K5's on Tuesday of next week. I have already reserved one for my week at the Bosque to take pictures of a boat load of birds with the BIGMA and the DA*300. It should be a good week. It is even suppose to be a full moon during that time frame.

Who else is going to rental one of these bodies from them?

Jim

I won't be renting a body from them, but I was thinking of renting a lens or two to try with my K-5. Here's another plug for camerapntrs.com/t/TUJGRktHSkJHRkpISUVCRkpOSkVN?url=lensrentals.com, as I've had nothing but good experiences with them. In fact, I think they should be a sponsor on this site for all the traffic we send there way

Good to hear they are getting some K-5s in. CLR is the GREATEST!. I've rented lenses from them numerous times and every experience has been perfect! May just have to rent a K-5 since it's gonna be next Feb or Mar before I can buy mine.

CLR

Camera Lens Rentals is definitely the best! I always rent from them first before I commit to buy.

I didn't know about their having the K5. So K5, here I come!

NOTHING but praise for Cameralensrentals.com! I recommend then ALL the way!

I totally agree with you all. This will be the second item I have rented from them, the first was the DA*300 this last summer and everything went so smoothly with them. I even moved up the date of getting the lens and Barry had no problem doing that for me. So i have nothing but good things to say about CLR.

Thanks
Jim

Nothing but good things from me too but I just noticed that the K5 is cheaper to rent than the K7, kind of by a lot too ($60 less for 28 day or something close), I wonder why that is?

I attempted to rent from them once. My clients cancelled, and I had to rush to cancel the rental. They were extremely nice, and said that they hoped I would return for my rental needs. Their customer service guarantee that I would return. Class company, IMO.

Heck, for 14 day rental, the K-5 is cheaper than the K20D!!! I think the older bodies must be way overpriced.

I suspect it's more a matter of them figuring that the older bodies will be less frequent rentals. I have a funny feeling they are going to do a brisk business in K-5 rentals and are pricing for volume!

There will be one less K-5 to rent from them. I booked one for 10 days the second Barry emailed me with the good news.

Thanks guys for the referral. I was planning to rent the K-5 during my late Nov trip to see how is the new body. As of now I can't afford it, but if I like it it may inspire me to save as much.

Camera Lens Rentals came through for me recently. I had a live concert video to shoot in Folsom, Ca. We were set for 10/10/10, and I of course waited till the two weeks before to decide that I needed the Sigma 8-16 for a super wide video angle. Nobody had it for rent, and I didn't have it in the budget to buy...yet. So I called them up. Barry said that if that's really what I needed he would order it from B&H, and have it drop-shipped to me in time for the shoot. I told him if he could do that I'd definitely let all you guys know how incredible they are! I've been waiting to post anything till I had some footage ok'd from the director, but that won't happen till Dec. So I'll just boast about them in this thread till I can post some footage. BTW I was the only Pentax in the bunch. 6 DLSR's. 4 Canon 5d mkII's, 1 7d, and my modified Pentax Kx with a Sigma 8-16 mostly and my Super Takumar 50/1.4 on some B roll stuff. I would not have used the Kx had it not been 24p.

Thanks for the heads up! I put in my request for 10 days to try it out before spending $1500 on an upgrade.
