I counted the number of flashes on the back of the body (you can see them in the bottom right hand corner of the video frame), as it is starting to write the data. 25 for jpg and 19 for raw, but there seemed to be a double-blip while writing the raw data. The shutter noise isn't to shabby either.

Being a musician I counted in 1/16th notes without a need to slow it down. I made it 19 and 25.

impressive

I am mostly just trying to evaluate birding with AFC-C mode and bursts which I was not able to do with the K20D. Did have an Osprey circle me once today but have not reviewed the shots yet. The greatest thing about the high iso is not that I want to shoot in the dark, but it means we can keep the shutter speed high with a good DOF, plus a teleconverter and clouds! Still evaluating as my subjects refuse to appear when I need them but I think its going to be great for BIF'ing.

I am getting stoked about the k-5. Just keeps getting better.
Decided not to buy because of the af-c and bursts. But now I might have to eat a little crow...
I am waiting a bit longer to buy. But if it keeps going like this I am in like flint...

LOL!!! this thread is filled with some real nuts! How many different ways can we count the clicks? I really am laughing out loud at the moment. I loved the musicians approach after JohnB's approach but Mr. Flores, you take the cake!

Would have been nice to have a "Med: 3,5 - 4fps" setting, like the K20D Hi mode, which I find perfect for most kinds of series of images, 2 fps might be a bit on the low side...
Yes, this is my only gripe with my K-5. ~4 fps would be way more useful than 2fps. In fact, it'd be nice if there was an option where you could define Lo-Continuous yourself.

You're kidding right? its definitely 19 and 25. The only was I could see you coming to the number 9 would be if you are counting every 2 shutter strokes as a single stroke. Try a stopwatch maybe?! 8fps is over before you blink...

19 frames RAW, 25 frames JPEG.

JPEG has improved by 3 frames. Being mainly a JPEG user in Drive Mode, I was hoping for a bigger bump up, but perhaps at some point JPEG processing speed becomes the constraint, not memory capacity.
25 frames still plenty...I've put in my order for the K-5
