Battery Grip BG4 Arca-Swiss Plate availability?

Do any of you use the BG grips and Arca Swiss type plates. I can't find any anywhere.

I just purchased a Kirk for my BG2 Grip from the Marketplace here but can't find any for the BG4 and my K5 is due this Wednesday.

Have requested one at Acra Tech but they say I'm on a list if and when they make one??

I bought both the L-bracket for my K7 body and the corresponding plate for the BG4 grip from Kirk. I asked if they would make an L-bracket that would work with the grip but they told me (a year ago) that they had no plans for making such a bracket.

An L-bracket that allowed usage of the grip attached to a K7/K5 would be much appreciated as it would mean not putting all that weight off-center while mounted on a tripod; everything would be sitting on top of the tripod.

Just now I saw a "universal tall" L-bracket on the Kirk website which, while not perfect, looks like it would do a good job. The only drawback is that here is no anti-twist machining on the bracket itself. You need to buy the corresponding camera plate, as well. The K7 camera plate should work for your K5 as they have the same body style, although you should confirm this with Kirk to be absolutely sure.

In fact, looking at the site it doesn't appear that they have the L-bracket for the body-only K7 anymore. This might be the only option for a current Pentax-generation DSLR L-bracket solution from Kirk.

Kirk made the PZ-135 for the BG4 grip - maybe they would do another run knowing the K-5 is using the same grip - you should send them an email about it. I just sold mine in the marketplace a few weeks ago unfortunately!

Just to confirm, you were looking only for a plate, not an L-bracket, (as the previous poster was implying!) right?

Yes! I have a universal L bracket from Acratech but need the Grip plate to use it.

I cannot find plates that will not twist on the grip as of yet. There are Universal Plates out there but do not have the flange to prevent twist. Any help would be appreciated.

I know Reallyrightstuff have a few general plates with a flange listed such as the BP-CS & B24. Unfortunately I didn't get the grip as I wanted to use their K7 L plate on the K5! They were quite helpful to this Brit. Pentax camera plates -
