k10d questions

I just got my k10d today but I only have manual focus lenses- I sold my 18-55 and returned my 300mm. When I turn the k10d on, the lcd works and is fine, but when i push down the shutter button, the screen goes black and I don't know if it's supposed to do that or not. any help? thanks.

It shuts down as soon as you start taking pictures, since you shouldn't be looking at it to begin with. If you want to fiddle with the menu, press the menu button.

The Rear screen goes black? Yes, it should. Be sure when you use your manual lens, that you set Using Aperture Ring to Permitted in your Custom menu.

I'm trying to get to the aperture setting so I can use my manual lenses, but when I select something on the menu, the screen goes black again.

Make sure your finger is not accidentally pressing the shutter button or the menu button. Use the right arrow button to select the menu function then press the OK button to select the option you want.

If your K10D didn't come with a manual, get yours here: http://www.pentaximaging.com/files/manual/K10D_Manual.pdf
