I hope we won't see K-3 before late 2013 or 2014. Instead, I would prefer Pentax to focus on 645D, technological upgrades and refinements to K-5 (software upgrades and perhaps hardware tweaks in K-5 Mk.II, III, IV...), and to release K-mount mirrorless compact body around current 12MP or 16MP sensors. And only then to release K-3 in three years.
At this point I can not see how K-5, D7000 or anything in the same class could be limiting to anyone? Current crop of APS-C cameras outperforms practically 100% of photographers, and there is really very little room for justified complaints from anyone.
In other words, I believe
the war is now over. Time to get and use new cameras without worrying about technology and what may be coming next, and shoot some great pictures.
