The K-1 is a terrible line! It's ALWAYS late

You are much better off taking the BX 7 bus or the number 6 train.

NaCl(just to add some confusing silliness into the mix)H2O

Or how about a K30D before the K-3? Anyhow, one or the other is bound to happen. And then, there will be another mass jump to upgrade and hopefully I can by a nicely used K-5 for cheap

I would buy the K-9.

I hear you can choose your choice of fur for the grip - feels nice to hold.

And guaranteed to track a flying bone in 10fps with complete AF accuracy!

no chance of it overheating, as it will sure be with a homeostatic system installed (warmblooded)

K10->K20->K-7/K-x->K-5/K-R
(I know I'm missing the 100/200/K-m but meh).
Look like they're working in pairs. So the next two "higher up" ones will be in the punctuation marks, and the next two entry levels will be in chinese is what I'm thinking. Or Arabic. Or maybe alpha and omega, except sony's got the alpha already.

I don't think we will ever see a K-1

There is already a rather strong K-1 in Japan. I do not think therefore we will see a Pentax K-1 unless maybe they start sponsoring the event...

K-1 on wikipedia

The Dutch are quite succesfull here....

They have already done special characters. Remember the "*ist D"?

I like the option of using Chinese/Japanese characters.

What about the K四十二? (K-42)

Or the K犬 (犬 is the character for "dog") - sold overseas as a K-9 of course.

I'm waiting for the M-x and the M-e, followed by the ultimate L-x

(But actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the first mirrorless cameras will be named M-x and M-e)

I hope we won't see K-3 before late 2013 or 2014. Instead, I would prefer Pentax to focus on 645D, technological upgrades and refinements to K-5 (software upgrades and perhaps hardware tweaks in K-5 Mk.II, III, IV...), and to release K-mount mirrorless compact body around current 12MP or 16MP sensors. And only then to release K-3 in three years.

At this point I can not see how K-5, D7000 or anything in the same class could be limiting to anyone? Current crop of APS-C cameras outperforms practically 100% of photographers, and there is really very little room for justified complaints from anyone.

In other words, I believe the war is now over. Time to get and use new cameras without worrying about technology and what may be coming next, and shoot some great pictures.

Hopefully Pentax is working hard on some serious glass for both the 645D and the K-mount.

I'm waiting for the K over 9000, with 1 milllllliiion ISO and at least 100 megapixels.

In all seriousness though, wait for the K-3, and then buy the K-5 from an early adopter. One year more isn't so bad, your pocketbook will thank you. In the interm, buy a nice lens .
