Buying DSLR on "Black Friday"?

I am not sure if this is the correct place to put this but:

Historically, has there been sales on DSLR's at one or any of the top-rated online photography sites on "Black Friday"? I am looking at the k-r's and k7's of the world, not the pro gear.

Most likely some DSLRs will be on sale, but I would not count on a specific model.

I got my SX20 on BF.

Nothing is going to happen with Pentaxes on Black Friday--basically because you can't hardly find a store that sells them anyway.

In addition, as far as online purchases go, there's no reason for Pentax to cut prices to boost a 4-week sales period between Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving.

Are you just being a price-predator or do you particularly seek a camera that can capture the most flattering quality portrait images of your midnight full-moon escapades?

Actually I am just trying to get the best value for my money. Do you not look for sales?

Amazon is having a week long "Black Friday" sale that starts Monday the 22nd and have already listed 100s of items that will be on sale. Search "Amazon Black Friday" and click a few links. It will NOT be the first link, that's the actual BF page. I think it's a few links down.

A lot of retailers run Black Friday specials. I bought my K10D at Ritz 3 years ago on Thanksgiving weekend and got a good deal. I didn't shop specificly for the camera that day but had been considering buying a DSLR and was familiar with current prices. I went in to buy some film and walked out with a camera and 2 lenses. Online retailers also run specials so it's worth checking out. The K5 might not be discounted but look for a bundle with lenses or accessories that may save you some good change. My K10D sold for an average price at the time but Ritz was giving a free Sigma 70-300 with every DSLR that day which made for a good deal, at least for me. Newegg does some great bundles.

Three years ago the K10D was at near-closeout prices. I got mine with kit lens in August 2007 at Circuit City for under USD $700 after rebate and a coupon.

The K-5, one hopes, is not yet in close-out mode.
