k100d buitlin flash

Hi All,

i have firmware 1.02. seems that the k100d has no wireless trigger capabilities with the built in flash? do correct me..

i would upgrade if i had the moolah. but i am a bit short on that..

please help..

No, you're correct. I've got a Sigma EF-500 DG Super, which is the cheapest most powerful flash with high speed sync, and if I bought another one I could use one on the hot shoe to trigger the other using P-TTL to get the exposure right.

However, I can use the pop-up camera flash to light the subject with my external Sigma triggered from it, but only in manual mode, i.e. you have to dial in a power setting on the Sigma, but it does give a little help in working out the usable distance for each power setting in the form of a bar graph on the LCD., so for a static studio sort of setup it's actually usable for a bit of side fill.

You can get an off camera p-tt cable, or you can get some cheap cactus v2 wireless triggers off ebay. although that wil mean manual flash, which btw is not really that hard.
