Ironically, that's precisely the issue I have always had with my black K-x.
A missed opportunity - just to save a few dollars really, so have been lumbered with common mediocrity ever since.
I honestly was
too stupid to even take "old-fashioned" Pentax's smart introduction of colour choices on DSLRs seriously - for the sheer innovation and courage in modern-day consumer attitudes marketing vision that it is.
Hoya also showed the world in new standards for IQ and Value starting with K-x too. It really became an iconic DSLR!
