I chose traditional black to avoid the attention of potential thieves when I travel around.

I like the navy, although ended up going with black because I would have had to pay $200 more. I find some of the really bright out there colours a bit too much, while the navy is just different enough to be interesting without standing out.

Ironically, that's precisely the issue I have always had with my black K-x.

A missed opportunity - just to save a few dollars really, so have been lumbered with common mediocrity ever since.

I honestly was too stupid to even take "old-fashioned" Pentax's smart introduction of colour choices on DSLRs seriously - for the sheer innovation and courage in modern-day consumer attitudes marketing vision that it is.

Hoya also showed the world in new standards for IQ and Value starting with K-x too. It really became an iconic DSLR!

I want a K-x or K-Whatever with Silver Top & Bottom, black or leather in the middle for the traditional K1000 or ME Super look. Why isn't this an option on any of them. I'd love to have a K-x like that with a few silver limiteds.

I bought the white storm trooper for my wife. She likes it a lot look-wise and we both like the Kx's performance. I use a K7 but if I were to buy a Kx for myself I would go for the black. Strangely I've been finding I use the Kx a lot because of the better iso performance, sometimes more than I use the K7. I guess I really don't care about color- just performance. Oh-Oh, I think I'm talking myself into a K5? I better stop now.

Will never understand why anyone would get anything but black.

What's wrong with you people?

It's a CAMERA!!! Not a HANDBAG!!!

They ain't model T's here we're yakkin' about. Henry Ford also once thought that people 'can buy a car in any color they want, so long as it's black they want." or something close to that.

That's an excellent analogy; and most of us know how that story panned out too, how Ford lost the plot mostly because of ol' Henry's stick-in-the-mud mentality and refusal to move with the times and give new-thinking people what they want.

Or to repeat an old saw: The only thing constant is change.

Traditional black, of course.
It has better finish (Based on the descriptions, the colored models appear to have a colored cover which can be damaged easier. It is not that the plastic is dyed).

Though dark violet may be nice too.
