Just ordered my K-x! :D

I got it in Navy Blue.

Yay! It'll be here Thursday or Friday (and just after I have finished my major presentations for my graduate courses this week). I would have never finished them had I gotten my new toy. I also got Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 so i can edit my images and finally start posting some of my gorgeous shots I have taken with my K1000.

I also got a mystery lens to try out. More to be revealed soon.

I'm jealous. I was planning on picking one up this week or next, but then I got a speeding ticket. =\

Mine was delivered on Tuesday. It's my first DSLR. It's awesome and bewildering at the same time. I love it. I feel the need to take it everywhere, but I don't have a good bag for it yet. I'm very pleased with my choice (I research these kind of purchases for months).

My only problem with the camera is just how many different options there are. It's overwhelming at first. My best photos have been taken with the manual settings because I can make sense of 'em!

Grr. UPS did something funny and my delivery got delayed until Monday. Now I'm sad.

Oh, well. I can survive another couple of days. I did get, however: 1.) My E-6 slides back from Dwayne's Photo, 2.) my mystery lens and 3.) Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. I think I'll play around with Photoshop Elements and post some of my K1000 shots, including some of the Kodachrome shots I took a couple of months ago.

I'll go ahead and reveal the identity of my mystery lens. It's a Vivitar 100-300 F5.6-6.7 MC MACRO Lens I got from KEH. I've heard mixed stories about Vivitar lenses, but I got a good feeling about it when I saw it in the listing. Once I've taken a few pictures with it I would like to review it, but it's not in the third party lens reviews.

Yea and hooray!

Welcome to the forums TLG and congrats on your new toys. I'm sure you will enjoy the K-x it is a fine little camera, and it's low light capabilities are amazing!
One note of caution; on some old lenses there is a pin, called the "ricoh pin" which was used to transmit information from the lens to Ricoh bodies which also used the Pentax lens mount. The problem is that lenseswith this pin can get stuck on Pentax DSLR bodies like your soon come K-x. Not to fear however, the pin is easily recogniseable and removeable. Many different places on the web show you how, like this one here. I don't know if your new-to-you Vivitar has the dreaded pin, but it doesn't hurt to check and it's very simple to remove.

NaCl(enjoy your new K-x and we're waiting with bated breath to see some pics)H2O

well maybe not bated breath, but pics will still be appreciated.
