I'm part of the RAW group. I recently found that for the PP I do I can get by just fine with Elements instead of going for a full Photoshop.
I don't use modes on my K20 but I do enjoy playing around with them on my istDL.

I shoot Raw+ and with 4mb fast cards I get about 180-190 shots on a card. The JPEG sort of looks like my old SLR stuff and I can do anything I want with the Raw in PP. Really the auto/bright looks too amped up for me, however I can get that in PP if I want it later. It is all about what you like.

A simple question was asked: K20D Shooting Modes - Portrait, Natural, ..... - wondering what Settings other people are using and why???

And look at all the useless space wasting answers from a lot of older experienced Pentaxians - about RAW, RAW and PP, more RAW and so on.
Obviously Thumbster21 was hungry for information on JPEG Settings for his K20D and not why he should shoot RAW, which he has already tried.

With such a marvelous camera as the K20D, outputting great JPEG photos, many people soon tire of PP with RAW shots. It just consumes so much precious time for the ordinary photo buff - OK for the Prosumer folks.

I've been playing around with the various settings for image tone on the k7 and shoot them raw+ jpeg. the jpeg is b/w usually in my case and i have the raw file to process as i choose. though i find the in camera settings reasonable, i find in many cases i still use the raw file and pp as i have greater control over the final look
