Pentax me with the math....

Just looking around pricing cams out and came across this "deal". I thought that when distributors put a package together that the bundled package would be less expensive than buying seperate.

Ok, so I did some math and found that if I purches them seperately that I would save $38. I know it's $38 but come on it's $38. I could spend that on other things*.

Also I'm looking to purchase a ex. condition K-7...."is anybody out there...can anybody hear me.."..Peace.

Following the link gave me this:

"some item(s) are no longer available at B&H and were removed from your shopping cart."

i did see this listing, not a bad price, don't know if he's sold it yet, and you'll still get dinged for taxes by the carrier

i just bought one on the forum last week myself for about this price

We are not able to see what is in Your shopping cart on these sites. If you want us to comment on a specific package deal, point us to the actual listing, not the added to cart to see price.

That said, generally I find these 'package' deals to be mediocre at best. Usually, the items aren't very useful and you'll end up replacing them anyway. Much better off to purchase separately to begin with. That is, unless it comes with lenses you seek, Then consider also the price of paying shipping for each piece.

Ok sorry people my cart timed out. The K-7 with 18-55mm is $979.00 before taxxes delivery etc. And the for just the body was $866.68. The 18-55mm kit lense is $149.99. So you can see the what I'm talking about. Sorry again for the confusion.

Huh?. I am confused. The kit is cheaper, correct, or am I missing something.
979 kit minus 866 body = 113 for the kit lens, or 830 for the kit body.(+- some change).

So the package deal chops a few bucks off the cost of the lens. Not surprising, you're still buying a new camera AND lens for under a grand. If you are at all serious, just get the camera and jump up to a DA*. If you can't "go big" with a DA* lens, then this is a good deal.
