Noisy ISO Club!

Well something happened here... a time warp or something .

Anyways let's see those noisy high ISO shots! Every camera can make them (some more successfully than others) and sometimes it can add a little something to the image!

Both on the K20d, ISO 3200. And I know I have to cone out my brother's face... he completely ruins that second picture... what a putz .

Wow yeatzee, a lot of those shots look like film noir stills! Awesome work.

Thanks I really enjoy switching the cameras into B&W mode, ISO 1600 for the K200d and 3200-6400 on the K-7, NR off, attach one of my many fully manual lenses, and take some snaps once in a while

I love how good Pentax's grain looks, especially on the k200d

I agree, Pentax seems to sacrifice "clean images" for sharper images with a nice fine grain. A lot of people don't like that... some people really prefer the "watercolour" looking noise-reduced high ISO images (my friend's D90 is really great at high ISO, but it looks photoshopped right out of the camera). You are really great at processing those images... I'm going to have to try push-processing at 1600 instead of pushing the ISO in camera.

Two more grainy "portraits": K20d at iso 6400... as bad as it gets .

The reason i looooove my k-x.

This is a crop at 1250 ISO. I know it is low ISO for you guys, but for wildlife it is really good. Notice the detail in the image and just beautiful grain pattern.

Nuffin but the grain.

OK, so I got a little bored. I hope it's actually visible in this resize, but I'm on a pretty low-res monitor atm. Exiled from my own kitchen, and the working laptop, too... But I've got lots for this thread, really. ISO 3200, K20d.

Great subject and likewise your pics, wouldn't have thought that somebody comes up with it. Again I can brag with my K100D :-)
Miss Cream I think your sunset by the sea is wonderful.

K100D ISO800 1/13 no pp (with Contax Planar 1.4/50 @1.4)

K100D ISO800 1/6 some pp (with Contax Distagon 2.8/28 @f/?)

Thanks for the compliment, and great pics everyone! It's funny how the high-noise rule tends to bring out a different sort of photography. That picture of the band above reminded me of one I took a while back... simply a show for a different demographic .
