I'm impressed with the SR in the K10D!

The title pretty much says it all. The attached photo was taken just before a thunderstorm hit. DA 50-200mm @ 150mm and 1/15 of a second. Unfortunately the AF focused on the cylinder cooling fins, but still, SR really works!

I hear ya!

I've taken more than a few hand-held shots that Program mode metered to .3-.5 seconds and still came out. Sometimes I hear the shutter open, pause, then close and think, "whoops, that'll never come out" Then I look at the photo and there it is, in all it's sharp glory! and my shake reduction isn't even rated as high as yours, as I have a K100D.

Cool pic, btw! Is it your bike? What was the bright orange reflection from? Quite a few rider/photographers on the forum here...

Thanks hinckc.

The orange glow is from the sign of a burger shop across the street, and sadly, no, the bike isn't mine.

As pleased as I am with the performance of the K10D's SR, I think I'm relying on it too much. I really have to start taking my tripod (which really weighs next to nothing) with me all the time, not just when I "think" I'll need it.

What a shot!

At a 1/15 sec.... I´ve shot some nice crisp hand held ones on 1/30 with a 300mm. but this one is awesome.

You know, if someone have told me ten years back that it could be done, I´ve propably been suspicious if he had escaped from the funny farm.

SR rocks!

Thanks Mats.

And it's so true what you said about "If they told me ten years ago...". I'm old enough to remember when aperture priority automatic on a 35mm SLR was a selling feature. Now we have our choice of exposure modes, metering modes, focusing modes etc. The digital SLR revoulution has definitely rekindled my love of photography. I haven't been this stoked about photography since the days when I would willingly (and gladly) tromp out into the woods with 20+ kilos of 4x5 gear! And now I can do it without chucking a bunch of nasty chemicals down the drain.

Sorry for getting a bit off topic. I really like my K10D!
