K10D User Mode Not Holding RAW Setting

When I set up User Mode to record in RAW it doesn't keep the setting after the camera is turned off :-))

I've checked the manual and as far as I can see I've done everything correctly. Either I am missing something or my camera has a fault. I even reset the custom functions to default and that made no difference.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have seen that some where. Thought it was in 'memory' but it is not.
Checked all my menus, and don't see anything. Hmmm.

Just a wild guess, did you turn the mode dial (top left dial) to USER position?

I finally got it to work!

I had to set RAW in the main menu before setting it in the USER menu, then reset the main menu back to JPEG. For some reason that did the trick, but it doesn't make any sense to me :-((

I went through the same frustrations, except with the Auto ISO setting. If I remember right it involved making sure that everything that I wanted to happen had to be set while on USER and then saving it in the menu. I was pretty frustrated too.

As soon as you enter the user menu it asks you if you want to save 'current settings'.

Here's the deal:

1. Just put the dial on USER
2. In the record menu choose RAW
3. Then go to setup and SAVE USER

Aparently I wasn't saving the setup.
