*isht D sensor issues

Hi all, seasons greetings!
I have a *isht D that has served me well for almost 7 years, but has recently been producing lines on the odd photo or today, blown out colour (ie not just from the shot) in areas of high contrast. I suspect the sensor might be about to go. Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions?

The sensor is getting ready to go. Those lines are caused by row- or column-readout errors, and the blown out color is bloom.

considering that you can get a K200D (which has a more modern sensor than the istD, weather-resistance and in-body image stabilization to boot) for $230 right now on Adorama Used Department, I'd ditch the istD. I think repair would easily cost as much, and the istD sensor might not even be available anymore as a part.

Or, get yourself a new K-x or K-r, which will definitely cost more but provide much more functionality.

I agree with the above post. If you like the istD, then you'll like the K200D. The K200D has some 'Pro' features, WR body, battery grip. The K200D, like all newer Pentax, doesn't do TTL flash ( just P-TTL ) and uses SD cards.
