Seems to be gaining ground, but this is a pretty lack-lustre 'Best dSLR' poll - low number of voters and all just public preference...

the best of 2010 is definitely the K-5 if you don't care about money (it's easily one of the highest price body this year).

IMO 2009 belongs to the k-x (rightfully so for putting a ton of stuff in a small body for so cheap) but 2010 belongs to the sony A55 or A580... pentax haven't done much this year except putting sony's new sensor into the K-5 bump the price really high and called it a day. Look how much new stuff sony put into the A55.

was the K7 released this year? i thought it was out in 2009?

DSLR MSRP have been lowering since last year... if you check out sony's mid range/low end line you'll notice this trend (just using sony as example because they release a boat load of models, makes it easier to see the trend).

Let's rephrase

The K5 at its release date (nov 2010) was cheaper than the K7 at its release date (somewhere last year), at least where I live.

I actually think that K5 is a fairly cheap buy.. I was actually shocked to see how cheap it is (considering what it is)
not that much difference between it and a new K7 ..

Interesting to see Pentax with 2 of top 5 and k-r doubled up on T2i, but have to agree with Ash about the very low total vote numbers - might be a non-representative sample.
