K-x and the National Christmas Tree

This is not about the pics but about the K-x. We went to see the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C. on Sunday night. It was about 20 degrees, fiercely blowing with snow whipping around. Less than ideal picture taking circumstances, but I'm still practicing with my K-x and figured this was a good opportunity. Batteries were fading in the cold, but were more than fine for 40 shots w/ some flash. I used a monopod to steady things a bit, but all in all, I'm happy w/ what the K-x could do in such circumstances. (The White House and Washington Monument appear clearer in the pics than they seemed to live!)

EDIT: hmmm.. I resized these pics in Irfanview to make sure that they satisfied the album limits here (less than 1Mb; 1000x1000), but is there a way to make them popup larger than thumbnails? And shouldn't Irfanview preserve the EXIF info?

I was there too with my K-x, and here are a couple of the photos that I took:

K-x, 40mm, f2.8, 1/6, ISO1250

and...

K-x, 40mm, f4, 1/25, ISO200

Very nice, and thanks for sharing, both of you.

I'm contemplating an upgrade sometime in 2011 (from my k100dS). The buzz is all about k-5, but I'm wondering if the k-r (similar sensor performance as k-x, I guess) is really the better option for me. Yours (and others) high iso's seem to be quite good.

Thanks.
