Defective sensor? K10d *NOW WITH PICTURES*

Hi there.
I was recently outside in the cold capturing some long exposures of water, landscape and such.
After appr.20 exposures my pictures turned green!
All of them, and 100% green as well.
I`ve tried several memory cards, changed battery, reset to the default settings etc.
Also tried to change white balance but nothing changes.

The histogram only shows some green, not blue at all. A bit red, but very little.
All of this happened while using K-lenses and after changing to my 135/2.5.
I accidentally bumped into the tripod during a 30sec exposure and aborted the picture by turning off the camera. Bad idea?

Anyways, the camera was bought 2.5 years ago at, so I understand there might be no guarantee left.
However, I wonder if anyone know just exactly what the problem is...
Probably the sensor, this looks like has changed colour in to green, but I`m not sure of this... Just think I remember seing this as purple or so.

I will post pictures but haven`t got any available at the moment.

Please help me

Does it only do with long exposures?
Still I believe your camera is somehow damaged.

You may try updating or reinstalling the firmware. Your camera is a computer and shutting it down while processing could possible corrupt the programing. It should be safe to reinstall the firmware. Does it do this in both jpg and raw?

Hi again.

Thanks for two suggestions.
Downloaded firmware v.1.3 (again, already had it) and now I seem to have an even bigger problem!
All of my exposures are now totally BLACK!

I had green exposures before that, at all shutter speeds. But they were at least correct exposures if I look at the histogram
Anyway, now there`s NOTHING I can do to get an exposure that is somewhat correct.
Not a single colour or light is there.

Here`s the second last picture I took before Hulk came to live inside the camera:

And here`s the first green:

None of these are edited other than converting to Jpg.
Tried both RAW (PEF & DNG) and JPG before downloading the firmware again, no change.
Please help...

I saw this somewhere else. Have a look at this thread.

Aaaah! That was interesting!
The motherboard that is.
Wonder how much it will cost me to get this fixed if they still have the possibility so save my camera at the norwegian Pentax-importer...

Thanks a lot for the info, woof!
Btw, my camera has done around 30.000 exposures now :ugh:

30,000 exposures.. that sucks. it should be good for 100,000.

back when i had a canon (350D at that) i shorted out the motherboard because i tried to mount a repaired 50mm lens. canon lenses are purely electronic so..

anyway the repair bill was quoted at about $300 USD. needless to say, I passed on the repair and got a K10D instead.. (I only had 2 canon lenses.. the body-destroying 50mm, and the kit lens, while i had tons of old M42 glass).
