Problem with Tamron Lens

I have a K2000 and it was working fine last time I used it. I spent some time today "trying to learn the camera" now the camera will not work with the lens. When I hit the shutter it shows all yellow and then the photo shows all black. Oh my god what have I done. I hope it is just a setting since I have not dropped anything. Also the camera works with the original Pentax stock lens.

IF the camera works with the Pentax kit lens, as you say, Stock lens, then the issue is not likely to be the camera. That leaves 2 things. The Tamron lens or the card. Simple things to try are reformatting the card, make sure the lens is seated properly, try cleaning the contacts on both the camera and the lens. Do these one at a time however so if any of it solves your problem, you'll know what the culprit was.

I have a Tamron lens, one thing I noticed is at it has to be set on auto on the lens itself in order to work on my kx. I think this is because the lens i have works on film pentax slrs and dslrs. I have not experienced what you described with my Tamron.

it shows all yellow
What is "it"?

and then the photo shows all black.
The LCD is black, your computer monitor is black, or the image is total black with no detail at all?

What mode are you shooting in?
