I have a K100d super, and its got one really annoying red hot pixel right near the center. It is visible all the time, even at high shutter speeds. The only time it goes away is when noise reduction is turned on and shutter speed is 1/4" or less. It seems that noise reduction does not function at speeds of 1/6" or higher.
Is there a way in the firmware or something to make noise reduction run all the time, even at higher shutter speeds? This would solve hot pixel issues for lots of pentax dslr users with annoying hot pixels.
I am sure its programmed in the firmware somewhere to activate NR only when shooting at 1/4" or less. If only Pentax would offer an updated firmware with NR to be activated at any shutter speed.
I know there are other options like pixel remapping or fixing the pictures in a software, but thats too much of a hassle to do for every photo.
