Went to Mexico and took my K200d with me. Nice little travel camera.

Great shots. The 12-24 is a sweet lens, isn't it? And the colors from the K200D in good light are just beautiful.
It looks like a fun trip!

Yesterday i remembered how nice the 200 is to hold... Trying to learn the old soviet glass, Helios 44-2 58mm f2.
Maybe iŽll just leave the m42-adapter on my K200d for the summer!

John, nice ones!

The 35mm renders nice shots with the K200D. I have the 16-45 zoom, but I wonder if I'd do better with that lens instead.

Thank you.

I have the 16-50mm and this one is so small and light. It's easy to carry around.

The K200D was my first digital camera. I didn't buy it because I had a lot of Pentax glass. I bought it because I thought that the internal shake reduction was smart, it took AA batteries, and it was compatible with K-mount and m42 glass so I could play with lots of legacy lenses. It had great ergonomics, but that is true of most Pentax cameras.

What I didn't like was objectionable noise at 1600 ISO. I moved onto a K-x (HUGE improvement in high-ISO IQ), then the K-5, K-5ii and now the K-3. Have not wanted to get my K200D back (but I did pick up a nice digital *ist D).

I am enjoying my new old K200D but sadly there is a dust spot or two I just cannot shift. I'll have to take it in to the local camera store and have them do it properly. Its just been stored since the first week.

The concert shots that you see above are at ISO 1600. With careful PP it works fine.

This one is at ISO 1600 too

Good point about post-processing. When I got my K200D I understood that concept of there BEING such a thing as post-processing (not the first clue on how to do it).

That is a terrific shot, BTW.

I do wish people would NOT post full size pix. It really screws up the layout. /grumble
