I wonder if the Katzeye screen I have in my K200D would fit the K-3?

I still have my K200D. Last month I went tubing down a river and wanted to bring a DSLR but knew it was risky. So I brought my old k200 and an old 50mm lens and I was pretty happy with the results! Nice to have something sturdy and reliable around for adventures.

If ou don't miss additional buttons and the most of the picture you made with good lens in daylight it is nothing to thing about more.

I missed my old K200d so much...I bought another one!

I used a K200d quite a bit around 6 or 7 years ago, but sold it, reluctantly, and switched to a series of excellent lighter-weight micro 4/3 bodies, both because I didn't like carrying the K200d + lenses on long hikes (don't even mention backpacks!) and also because of some superb tiny Leica-branded Panasonic lenses which I still have and use on some excellent Lumix bodies. But ---

BUT I missed the build - the CCD colors - the solidity - and, yes, the hard-to-define qualities of Pentax lenses and glass. So about a month ago I purchased a second (relatively lightly-used) K200d body from a fellow Pentax Forums member -

And damn but even though it seems semi-dinosaur like, in 2018, with "only" a 10.2 mp sensor - what a great camera!

This time around I acquired a lightly-used and quite small ('pancake') DA 21mm lens and so far, the results - taken in daylight conditions, at relatively low ISO's, have been ... stellar.

There is something about the way this camera handles - and the images it is capable of producing - which, still, is quite special.

K200d + DA 21 = an interesting combination

I currently only have two lenses for my new (to me) K200d - the first is an old analog era f/1.7 50mm SMC Pentax lens, not quite as fast as some of the f/1.4's I used to shoot with but in some ways a better lens than the faster glass. It's becoming my de factor portrait lens.

The other lens, a recent acquisition, is the tiny DA 21mm Ltd which, the more I shoot with it, the more I like.

This photograph, taken while I was walking from my house to the local library, is a good example of why I like this camera + lens combination.

Those are great results! And the lens looks great on the camera as well!

My next lens will be the DA 21. Oh yes. It will shine on my K10D (same sensor as K200D).

Recently sold my K200D There were a lot of things I liked about it but my new to me K-3 performs so much better that I couldn't see a reason to use the old K200D anymore. We will see if over time I start missing it...

I miss mine more than anything because I have a Katzeye focusing screen that's excellent for manual focus but they're no longer available and I don't think it'll fit in my K-3.

My new (to me) K200d works nicely with legacy glass, as well. This candid portrait was taken with my ancient SMC-M 50mm f/1.7 Pentax lens, wide open, and the combination of the old lens's special rendering plus the CCD sensor is...well, here it is.

The K200d keeps surprising me with its...range of usability.

Including this available light portrait, taken with the DA 21 -

One more with the K200D and my (recently acquired from a fellow PF member) 10-17mm fisheye zoom, at the wide (10mm) end of the zoom.

K200D, A135 2.8, no PP.

Yes, there are many newer, better cameras - but I already own this one so as a secondary or backup it works just fine for me.

Hmmm. So my K200D is, what, ten years old?
I must say, for a 10-year-old dinosaur, it's a more-than-capable photography instrument.
