Long time since I used my K200D. Took it out tonight with a DFA 100mm Macro and AF160 FC Ringflash.

Long time Pentax user (back to Super Program), and still happily shooting with my K200d.

Usually keep a Tamron 28-300mm on it for all purpose use. It's a nicely balanced set-up.

Love the full grip size & excellent build quality. A great camera!

A buddy had a K200D. Good camera for it's time. I don't have one, but I do have a K10D and a Km. They're great cameras, but if one broke down and wasn't worth fixing...I'd dump it and buy a new K-3 or K-3 ll, to replace it.

I have no doubt that the new camera is much better in many ways than my old stuff.

Well I agree to an extent. I have a K3 and I love it but the K200D has that certain something that I really like in the image. Notice the color...

I love how the K200D renders green, especially outdoor shots.

Beautiful pix of that old Ferrari (166 ?) and yes the colour rendition is excellent. Photo quality sort of reminds me of my even older Pentax...the K10D.

I find my different Pentax DSLR's , although from different eras...all seem to have their different signature...when it comes to the picture. I have the K10D, the Km and the K-5. I like them all, but I must admit I prefer the K-5 for it's ability to use higher ISO.

Yeah you're right. It took me a long time to figure out but once I did, I found it performs well. Here's one at ISO 1600.

For the BMW motocrycle here is the EXIF data. For the concert shots, I use at least 1/125 to freeze the scene. Most of the time I'm shooting at 1/160th or 1/180th at ISO 1600.

I just use LR5 for my basic editing.
LR5 settings for most of my high ISO shots:
Standard brightness and contrast
Sharpening to 75
Luminescence to 20 or 25
Mask: 90

Pentax K200D
smc PENTAX-DA* 50-135mm F2.8 @ ƒ/2.8
Focal Length - 103.0 mm
Shutter - 1/90
ISO 1600
Flash (off, did not fire)
Software - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2
Date and Time (Modified) - 2013:09:17 05:59:04
Metering Mode - Center-weighted average
Exposure Mode - Auto
White Balance - Auto
Focal Length (35mm format) - 154 mm
Scene Capture Type - Standard
Contrast - High
Saturation - Normal
Sharpness - Hard
Subject Distance Range - Close

lensego - thank you. My K3 is still my main go to camera but the K200D is a very good back up and fun street camera. My 35mm F2.4 lives on it for casual stuff.
