indication of number of images taken on a k100d?

In most cameras, the external LCD will display number of available images left, which the k100d does, but then in playback, they'll tell you, for example, "Image x of y" or "1/450" or some such indication that tells you A. where you are in looking through the images and B. how many you've taken on your current card.

Where does this functionality exist in the k100d, and if it doesn't, who do I yell at to get it put in a firmware update?

In the 9-image review mode, there is a slider on the right side that gives a rough approximation of where you are in the images. That's about as close as you'll get.

You have to do the math to know how many you've taken (number available when you format your card minus how many you have left).

I would contact Pentax regarding firmware suggestions.
