Would not recognize my K2000 at all. No crashes or anything, just kept the 'no camera connected' message displayed.

Now the tethering app works for K200D and K7. On the site it lists a lot of different models. Anyone know if it works on the Km/K2000? It doesn't mention anything on the site and it seems like it would be a really neat feature to have.

Does the camera have a memory card in? It won't detect it if it doesn't.

Yep, SD card was in the camera. As soon as the USB cable is plugged in to the computer, everything on the camera shuts down except the power light. The computer recognizes the camera, and I can transfer images from the camera to the computer.

Works fine on K-5, FW 1.02.10, Windows Vista Ultimate SP2. Programme saves jpeg and/or DNG files. I use a second monitor so I can view the 700kb preview image full size for evaluation. I will definitely donate to the author when the beta testing is finished. Haven't tried PK_Remote yet.

I dont need to install the Pentax Remote assistant first, do I? Right now when I connect either the K20 or K7 both have PC on the displays and the software doesn't say a camera's connected.

I'm going to try tomorrow with an SD card inserted since an earlier post says that it wont connect without one. And I just realized it 5 minutes ago. I think its sleepy-time. :-)

You do not need to install any additional software for work with PK_Tether, except Microsoft .NET library. But if PK_Tether run successfully, you have already .NET.
Try to connect camera to PC by USB cable, next run PK_Tether sw, next switch On camera, wait for one minute, try to manipulate with PK_Tether. If still unhappy, try to run other sw solution PKRemote from the same author's site.

I tried it with an SD put in and it works great. I installed the newest .NET library (4).
At least I have a choice between using tether or my Eye-Fi card.

It will work with newer cameras. The cameras after the K20 did not offer tethering as an option (I guess Pentax was working on other things).

With the K-X and firmware 1.02, there is a problem with corruption of the photos and the program locking up due to a failure to read the buffer after about 10 shots. tkoz has been notified by multiple users and will be looking into the problem.
