Why only 1/20sec.?

Hi folks!

Let me start off by saying that my K20D has the latest firmwear. With that said, I have found something out about the camera that is odd.

Whenever I have the drive mode set to Burst Shooting, the lowest shutter speed the camera will let me set is 1/20sec.. That is the case even if I try to manually override that limit with the exposure mode in Manual.

Some of you please try shooting in Burst Mode with a shutter speed lower than 1/20sec. and let me know what you experience.

Thanks

I just glanced at p.119 of my K20D manual:

"BURST SHOOTING. You can take pictures continuously at approximately 21 frames per second."

And that's why your slowest shutter speed in that mode is 1/20 (actually 1/21) second. If you could set the shutter to 1/10 second, you fastest burst rate would be around 10 fps. With a 1/5 second shutter, it would be 5 fps, etc. Shutter speed is constrained by frame rate.

RioRico: Duh. I guess if I had just given it a few more seconds of thought it would have dawned on me. I just never had a camera before that could still override one's settings in Manual Mode.
