New sensor for Pentax DSLR

Hi everybody,
Since Pentax currently gets their sensors from Sony, If Sony produced a back lit aps-c cmos sensor, would that help with the diffraction that occurs in their 16mp chip and also improve low light capabilies in with 16mp cmos chips and higher?

No, it probably wouldn't improve either signuficantly. Pentax now taken a patch of choosing independently the best availeble sensor on the market. I like it. If Samsung or Aptina or Kodak comes with anyting superior to Sony, Pentax will buy it for their next DSLR.
This strategy increases the price of the product, but still I like it.

I had the impression that diffraction is an attribute of the lens
