Recommended settings in K100d

I found out after 3 months of using my little k100d that putting instead of automatic ( which gives nice results but not perfect ) on P with +1 sharpness and White Balance sun and shade ..the icon with the house and the shade.
I will post two example images .. It is very pretty when taking nature pictures ..

I am very interested in your post but had a hard time understanding your writing and what you meant.

Would you mind clarifying what adjustments you made?

I may be wrong, but i believe he had been shotting in the "AutoPict" mode on the dial. Then he tried "Program" mode on the dial, and went into the menu, and ramped up the sharpness slider 1 notch < which i did the 1st day i got my K110D > I think he noticed a nice difference

i am sorry that i didnt answer sooner , had some days vacations and took some nice pics
Yes the pictures i take now is in program mode "P" not anymore in automatic , except if i am in an envronment that needs constantly to change the WB.
This cam was my first DSLR and in compare to the pentax optio 550 i owned , with the automatic mode the pictures were quite better and i thought i didnt need to play with the WB so much .
Also i like sharp pictures (who doesnt ) so i give the sharpness +1 from default . Image tone i use natural , bright tone is the default !
The setting i use in the WB when i am in P mode is the shade , which reduces the bluish colors in the picture. Press the Fn button and you can change the WB there
I hope i was helpful

Nice pictures. I'm going to have to try getting into program mode, the difference is quite dramatic.

If you shoot in RAW format you don't have to worry about settings! everything can be adjusted later!!

That is a GREAT point, but.. you have to have the software to be able to make those adjustments.

LOL, when I shoot a dog show, it's about 500+ images when I shoot an air show it is usually 1000+ images, all in raw.

Holy you know what! I am sorry but you must have more free time than anyone I know. My eyes do hurt just thinking about it.

I will try playing around with the settings this weekend...and all photos will be in jpeg thank goodness.
