My first long exposure with K10D

I'm pretty happy with the results. This was taken with the 18-55mm that came with the camera.
PS- This is the George Washington Bridge and Henry Hudson Parkway in New York City.

Wow, I am speechless. I would be so proud of myself if i have similar photo. BTW I missed NY and I love NY.

You should have a title below " X men IV ". Supernatural

I would try that myself somewhere too.

What is the EXIF?

Thanks everyone. I believe this one was 10 seconds and F5.6 at 18mm ISO 100 SR off, I just had this one done in a 20X30 with the metallic paper. I can't wait to get it back from Mpix.com.

Beautiful shot!! I do not "miss" NY but I love it and tkis shot should be on a postcard!

Breath taking shot sharpshoota! Did you use the in camera noise reduction or do any in the post processing? Love the colors and composition. Time exposures aren't the easiest pics to take. You even did it with a new camera. Wow. I love to take night shots and was a little worried about the K10Ds ability. Looks fine to me. Did you do JPEG or RAW?
The 16-45 is a little better than the 18-55. It is a little less gray (more contrasty) and a little sharper. I like the wider view ( less tele though) and love the constant f4 aperture. Constant aperture is much easier with manual exposure. The lens is a lot larger but not that much heavier. 67mm filter size. Bought mine as the kit lens with the DS. Very happy with it and will keep it. Now buying the K10D with 18-55. LBA. Better at buying lenses than selling them.

Great curves, really draws me into the photo.

That has got to be a beautiful shot on metallic paper. The intense bright spots are without a doubt going to shine on your wall and you should get lots of complements from everyone except the blind. That K10 has a lot of impressive capability and so do you.

If my sixth sense is still working, this lens should be ready for us March next year. What a lens to have!

Otherwise Samsung is releasing its rebatch of pentax 16-45 with a cheaper price of course. I would just wait to get the best - super sonic (for this range of 18-55 mm?? Overkill?), weather sealed and Bright!

I was actually meaning the 16-45 4.0 lens. The 2.8 is actually 16-50. That should be out in march.

I don't know why but I've always shied away from night shots. This picture definitely inspires me to take up this aspect of photography.

You certainly used a tripod. Did you leave the SR on? I understand Pentax recommends switching off SR when you mount the camera on a tripod. What if my tripod is flimsy and sways with wind during those 10secs? Won't SR fight it?

I love night shots like this. the blue glowing from the lights really sets this apart from other shots.
