Realize thread is a little old now, but Sv mode seems a little more usable on the dual e-dial models since the non-ISO dial can be assigned P-shift. Many may not use this mode much but it does seem to be a sensible/logical inclusion and isn't very intrusive for those who don't use it.

I've used Sv with my Pentax AF-280T flash with good results.

I didn't know it limited the shutter speed to 1/180th second, so that would explain a few things with some outdoor shots I took with my Sigma DG 530 Super! I was testing Sv with the Sigma and got great results indoors, but as I said, that would explain my issues outside when I was using high speed sync.

The nice thing about Sv is that I can get consistent results in that mode.

I've used the Sv mode just for trying. But in 95% of the time my K-r is in M anyways.
