As long as it's in acceptable condition, then go for it!

$300 for a K-x and 18-55 lens? You should enter that purchase with caution. If you do not know much about the camera perhaps you have a friend that does and can help you look it over. If this is being bought from Craigslist, ask the seller to meet you at a close by camera store and perhaps someone in the store could be nice enough to look it over.
Just look around the forum's marketplace and you can easily see that $300 for a K-x in reasonable condition is a very good price. Heck, if you buy and it works well but the red does match your shoes, I'd give $300 plus $60 to mail it to me.
I'm not saying the price is too good to be true; just be careful.

I just bought it....and that wasn't all...

Red kx (350 shutter count!!!) + 18-55mm(red) + pentax sling bag (new) + pentax kac84 adapter + sandisk 4gb ultra class 4 + energizer batteries = $300
I have used it and compared with my kx and so far everything works just the same. Is the camera going to explode tomorrow?, is the FBI going to come after me? I don't know...but so far I am glad. I hope the guy who sold it (really nice old guy) enjoys the money as much as I will enjoy the camera

I bought a white one for $229 and it works perfectly. Sometimes when people get gifts or need to sell something ASAP they'll lowball it. I sell games online and I'll drop the price to clear out inventory if I really need to.

Congrats on your new camera!

So you got a seemingly very good condition, spirited, red K-x dslr, with accessories for a very good price on Pentax Day? Congratulations!

And now you have two K-x bodies?
I smell a "Traveling Red K-x" thread being born here, ladies and gentlemen. Brilliant!

This does not apply to too many people directly, but it is peculiar the red kit being that much cheaper:

red k-x + 18-55 for 403,90 € : 11776 - Pentax K-x + 18-55mm - Verkkokauppa.com

black k-x body only for 469,90 € : 11781 - Pentax K-x, runko, m - Verkkokauppa.com

black k-x + 18-55 for 519,90 € : 11766 - Pentax K-x + 18-55mm - Verkkokauppa.com

Maybe the red one is not selling that well (I have been kind of tempted to getting one and finding a hammer and sickle sticker to complement it for maximum effect ... )

Yep, it was cool that I got it on Pentax Day
I think my brother will enjoy it for now, that was the main reason why I got it.
I will try to post a picture of the red twins later
