Ricoh Rikenon P 50mm 1.7 on a K100D

Hey there.

There's a Ricoh Rikenon P 50mm f:1.7 prime I'm thinking of picking up on the cheap. I know about the Ricoh pin, having removed it on another lens to avoid problems mounting on my K100D, so that's not a big deal.

What I need to know is, will the "P" on the aperture ring work the same as the "A" on a Pentax PK-A lens? Some say it will, others say it won't.

I have the same lens on my K100D. The pin does not need to be removed.
"P" is no use. Just use manual mode anyway.

No, it won't. The aperture ring contacts for Ricoh are in a different place on the flange than Pentax, and they likely don't speak the same signals even if they did line up.
