EXIF data in K10D vs DS

I finally got my K10D last week (yea and hooray!) There is one thing that puzzles me. On my DS, the EXIF data read by PSE 3, recognises many lenses such as the 77 ltd, Tamron 90 f2.8 macro, the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 etc. On the new K10D I get no such lens recognition, just the usual focal length used. What gives?

NaCl(I was surprised it didn't even id the 77 ltd)H2O

EXIF is a 'back-burner' work in progress; very low priority for some.

Strange, I get lens recognition in my K10D, including Tamron lenses.
My camera is using firmware ref 1.30. Yours?

The EXIF data contains lens codes, not the actual names of the lenses. With the K10D and firmware 1.20 and later, the lens codes has been changed - an extra number is added to allow for more lenses. This change to the lens code means that software that isn't updated to read the new lens ID-numbering, can't identify the code. The latest versions of Pentax PhotoLab and PhotoBrowser software is updated to read the new lens IDnr properly, I don't know about Adobe - but try out the latest version of the Adobe Camera Raw and see if things has changed.
