I love my Kx, but she eats batteries like a Kodak. Has anyone found a really good long lasting set yet with charger of course. Yea I have the filmware upgrade.

I can put in freshly charge and 1 shot ,they are yellow. I must admit, she keeps shooting when it is red. I bought an awesome new lens. Instant focus. I think swear i think the batteries are intimated, so they die faster.

I wonder if rhe kr battery would work and if it has a charger?

Suggestion. Please. Miss Red is eating me out of house and whatever.

Eneloop or powerex. Either brand is good. I would suggest you get a good charger maha/powerex makes an excellent one.

I use them in my K-7 grip and get at least 1k shots out of one charge!

Another vote here for Eneloop. Elsewhere on this forum someone once posted this link. Of course, they're also available in 4s, 8s, etc. on this site, but they work out cheaper per unit if you buy 16, 24, etc.

I ordered a bunch of AAs and AAAs from these guys and the prices were very fair and the batteries are superior; I've used AA rechargeable for many years, since the Dynacharge days, but nothing compares to Eneloops (okay, maybe Maha/Powerex, but I've never owned those).

I'm using a set of Varta's now, 2700 mAh, "professional accu", and they got me really impressed...they have been in the camera for a long time (and have taken a fair lot of pictures).
But given the eneloops rep you can't go wrong if you buy those.

Eneloop plus a "Good" charger (eg Maha C9000). Can't have satisfactory performance out of yor AA's without both good batteries and a good charger that a) wont kill your good batteries and b) will ensure that every single on of your batteries really are fully charged (vast majority of chargers do not do this).

I have been using Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries in a K-x since purchase, about 18 months ago, and keep records of battery replacement. Usually I get 700-740 pictures per set, although I did have one set only last for 623 snaps. I think that was because I did an uusual amount of night shooting with long exposures.
I have not compared prices to eneloops, etc. and, of course, I don't take as many snaps as some, so only have to replace batteries every 3-4 weeks.

Here you go - $20 with batteries. This charger charges each battery individually, I own and use this model, with the Duracell 'Duraloop' batteries, both work well. Has an optional car adapter available too, and the charger with charged batteries in place can charge your I-Phone.

I bought two dozen Sanyo Eneloops and never looked back. I use them for everything now, cameras, remotes, Wii etc.

+1 for Eneloop.

Powerex is good too but may be not as good as Eneloop. Additionally, both my k-x and k100d shows half charge on Powerex just after a few shots although somehow manages to give a good number of shots even after that.

Thanks guys. I have 16 Duracell. But not sure they are Duracell "loop" They just Don't last. They work fine in my flash but not in camera. I will investigate the enelooop and a Maha charger C9000 charge. Guess I can't get that at Walmart where I work. No 10% discount. Since almost all of you you suggested eneloop I will try some. I too am looking at the K5 but decided on a new lens for now. Maybe next year after I figure out the camera.

I have std 18-55 std Pentax red, Tokina 105 zoom manual than locks into macro awesome(need to figure out the macro $65) std 70 300 Pentax and tamrom 28-300 new awesome.

I also own a Sony 15x h7 and a Fuji pocket. That have a great macro except I need to be too close the the bee or fly, but I have some beautiful pixs from it.

Duracell branded eneloops are packaged as 2000mah precharged and have a white top bit when looking at the +ve end, a picture is attached. They have ones with the same packaging but black where the white is, and these are supposedly not as good as eneloops. I have several sets of eneloops and the white topped duracells, and they perform the same in my k100d.

I've recently been using a set of powerex 2700mah batteries, and I'm pretty impressed with them. They are noticeably heavier then eneloops though.

Definitely get a good charger, I have a maha mhc9000 and it really made a difference. If you go the maha charger route, look for package deals with their 2700mah batteries or their version of eneloops, the "imedions", which I haven't tried been have only read good reviews of.
