K10D mirror problem

I've had my K10D since 2008 and I'm really hoping it hasn't just become an expensive paperweight. What's happening is this: Every control I touch flips up the mirror. Menu button, review, aperature wheel, even turning it off causes the mirror to flip up. I can't take a picture because when I hit the shutter release button the mirror flips up and nothing else happens. I'd like to upgrade but the exchequer says no. Anybody out there have any ideas? Is it fixable?

It does sound like you have a problem with the electronics of your K10. If it is it will need a professional repairer to sort it out. they will have tho proper equipment to do tests on your camera.
