Well, I finally got around to do it today and ordered a K10D and 16-50mm f/2.8 lens. Now that I've gone and done it, the K12D will be out in February! Still, I think the K10D will fill the bill quite nicely. I'm really looking forward to getting out with it and doing some shooting.

I have the Sigma 18-50 f/2.8. Sounds like you ordered the Pentax DA* 16-50. Will be interested to see some photos with it. I have the DA* 50-135 f/2.8 and it's quite good.

Even if they do (which many people doubt), you probably wouldn't get your hands on one right away. Having now bought a K10D, you have about 6 months of photography ahead of you you wouldn't have otherwise had.

And imagine you didn't buy the K10D, waited until February, and no new model was released; how bad would you feel!?

I should be recv'g my K10d any day now. I also purchased the Sigma 18-50 F2.8. If the 18-50 is anything like my previous experience with Sigma EX lenses....I will be thrilled!

WMBP, what do you think of the Sigma 18-50 F2.8?

Lucky you, I'm hoping to sell my K100, and upgrade to te K10.

You probably made the right decision.
The K10D is an excellent camera for a very low price.
Now you've put most of your money in an excellent lens.

With a new model the body price is likely to be much higher.
Your lens will last for many, many years. The body you probably want to replace long before the lens, to get yourself a technology upgrade.
