K10d I R times out can it be stopped?

On my K10d even if I have the sleep / stand by set to off if the IR is set to be on in the drive settings this seems to switch off after a few minuites.
If you press any button on the camera it comes back on but not if you press the IR remote button, is they a work round for this or do I just use a wireless trigger instead?

I'm not exactly sure what it is you are talking about but it sounds like what you want to do is completely disable the auto power off. Setup Menu is where you want to go (Page 196 in the manual).

This was talked about a long, long time ago here, but I sure as heck can't remember if there was a solution or not, nor who may have been involved in the discussion. Sorry I don't have an answer, but it is somewhere on the site for you to find.

*EDIT* Found it in about 3 seconds. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-dslr-discussion/15909-k10d-remote-...e-timeout.html

Hell, I've worn mine out and didn't remember it was in there, or even think to look again.
