Exposure lock with half press - K7

Hello,

Hopefully this is a quick question:

Can you program the K7 so the exposure locks with a half press of the shutter button?

I've looked at all the custom settings and the manual and I can't figure it out.

Thanks,

-Yale

THere is a menu item that will allow you to lock AE to AF point. It's in the custom menu but I don't remember off the top which line item. You Could also press the AE-L button right under your thumb when you are holding the camera.

PG 126 in the manual

It would be on C.1.5 to lock exposure with AF. You can turn this off/on, but I think it also depends on metering if it is set to matrix. For spot metering, there is no choice but lock with AF.

This is correct. "Link AE to AF" point works with matrix metering only. "Lock AE to AF" locks in the exposure when the AF is locked regardless of metering mode, but you also have the option to lock AE independently by turning "Lock AE to AF" OFF and using the AE-L button to lock the exposure.

There are subtle differences, but this allows a lot of versatility in use.

Took me a while to get my head around the differences.
