My friend told me to buy pentax k10d,coz he said it has better compressed RAW to jpeg than k20d,n told me if buy pentax k-x or pentax k-r...I just got a new camera with new feature but not upgrade the class....

So I need advice from all of you pentaxian all over the world...to help me make decision to change my k100d super...

Hi there.
It's more important to know your budget and what features you're looking for in a camera, and of course what you want to shoot with it.
Those things your friend told you weren't so accurate.
The K-r is quite advanced and is a very responsive and versatile little camera.
The K20D would be my next choice even though its high ISO performance is not as good as the K-x.
Then I'd suggest the K-x, and finally the K10D - but if you always shoot at ISO 100-200 and like long exposures, the K10D is the best choice of all of them in my opinion.
Enjoy shopping for a camera.

As mentioned by Ash, think of your budget.

Consider also if you need lenses. A good lens is worth every penny. It is best to have an older camera with the better lenses, than a 'top' camera with very average lens. In fact, all new cameras drop value very quickly, when the good pentax lenses gain value.

What do you like to shoot ? what do you want to shoot ? Think beyond the square and consider the complete system lens+ body.

Food for thoughts....

Hi.

you should decide what's most important for you in the camera. High ISO, or ISO100, or pentaprism, or weght, or price etc.

Literally, you can go forth or up. Forth line - k100, k200, k-m, k-x, k-r. Up line - k10, k20, k-7, k-5, (645D lol).

thank's for all the advice....for k10d or k20d I consider to buy used camera with a good condition so the price not to expensive...in indonesia the price is around $450....my budget is about $550....my purpose upgrade the camera..that I want to make some money from photograph...no just for a hobby...I want to buy k-5 but the price still expensive...
I usually take a shot in iso 200...sometimes use iso 800...n rarely use iso 1600....

Then you may well do with a K20D.
Within your price range, and a very well-built and decent upgrade from the K100D Super.

If you rarely go over ISO800 the K7 is a great camera and has really come down in price - almost the same as the K20D now. What subjects are you shooting ? Do you need WR (K20D & K7) ?

I had almost the same problems

My decision: I've got K10D, DA 16-45, F 35-70, Samyang 85/1.4, Youngnuo flash, Vivitar flash, spare battery, Youngnuo triggers. Also a bunch of Takumars and M lenses.

With that I can go pro a little, shoot some events, portraits, studio work. Now I'm getting K20D.

Good luck!
