I'm in love!!

Got my new K-x in today. Well, it's used but not used much, had 1198 accuations on it. I took 34 photos already. It's a lot lighter than my K100D with the Sigma 70-300mm attached. I will need to upgrade the firmware though, but that's not a problem. I've upgraded firmware before.
LCD looks brand new, only smudges on it, I put there. Clean now though.

I'm happy as a clam at high tide, can you tell? :

Thanks Karen, Ash and Stefan. I took video with it already but I'm going to have to work on my video skills, long time since I did that.

Where do you find which firmware it has? I knew on the K100D but this manual is super thick, and controls in camera, I'm still learning.

Never mind, PhotoMe told me. It already has the newest firmware, 1.02.

Even though you already know...hold down the menu button while turning the power on.

Thanks.

One of my first photos is in my gallery titled Single in March if you'll care to see.

It's a bit noisy because I forgot about NR in this camera.

I always recommend downloading the pdf manual to your computer - usually found on any manufacturer's website.
1) You will have a copy if your paper one is ever lost, misplaced, or destroyed (usually via coffee!).
2) You can do a search of the entire pdf manual a lot quicker than leafing through a paper one.
Just a thought.

Dma thanks.

Tom I'm ahead of you. Since this camera was used, I downloaded the manual yesterday just in case it didn't come with one. Loads of people lose manuals, and I didn't know if previous owner sold it with the manual or not.

Thanks. Yes, low light shooting is one reason I picked the K-x.

Thanks jolepp. Question though, why do I not see a users group for this great little camera?

For all you who have one, do you use the Copyright feature?

In case no one has taken up my offer to see one of the first photos: and it's a bit noisy. But much better than I hoped at ISO800.

I seem to recall that the lack of the K-x specific subforum was based on an assumption that there wouldn't be that much demand for it (personally I could see it becoming a classic though, but we'll see about that ). Having clean high ISO should be a boon for birding as fast shutter times that go with long FLs are practical with civilian (slowish) versions of tele lenses. Personally I have been very pleased that ISO 1600 or even 3200 gives fair results for indoor snaps without a flash
