The argument that brick and mortar places don't carry Pentax because everyone buys on-line doesn't hold. The same could then be said for Canikon.....but brick and mortar does carry those. Consumers have the same incentive as with Pentax to hold and feel the product at the B&M store and then go to Amazon. Here in the states, products do cost more at B&M both price and typically tax wise. I truly have no idea why Pentax is not in more B&M stores at this point. They were slow to market with competitive digitial products, but not any more.

Yes, B&M is important becasuse ergonomics matter a lot.

B&M is key, when I was doing research to get my first DSLR (a few years ago) I went to several stores to feel the cameras in my hands, I tested canon's, nikon's olympus, and pentax... the only entry level DSLR that felt good and not like a toy in my hands was the K100DS. I still went online and got a sweet deal but many people would have probably pulled the trigger in situ. That's how Pentax got me -through B&M-, later I got a K10D, and now I have a K7.
