There seems to be some confusion here. I think you need to read my post a little closer.

You are referring to PKRemote. I am referring to PK_Tether. They are different programs.

Specifically, I am talking about the Windows PK_Tether program, available from here:
PK_Tether | Tethering and remote control software for Pentax DSLR cameras

not the old PKRemote for Linux:
PK-Remote | Download PK-Remote software for free at SourceForge.net

or the Windows port of that Linux PKRemote Tomasz Kos recently did:
https://sites.google.com/a/pentax.org.pl/tomaszkos/en/pkremote-for-windows.

which is what I think you are talking about.

Here's the history of both the Windows port of PKRemote, and PK_tether, in the authors own words:

About Me

My name is Tomasz Kos

I’m an electronic engineer and my profession and hobby is microprocessors programming.

Since the beginning of 2010 I’m the owner of Pentax k-x. Sometimes ago I watched video about tethering shooting, I like it and I wanted to try this with my camera. I found two programs for tethered shooting with Pentax (PKRemote and Pentax Remote Assistant), but both support only older Pentax DSLR’s. So I decided to develop some software myself and final result is PK_Tether.

My mistake. Got the name wrong. It is in fact PK_tether that I am referring to. The same one you posted a screen shot for.

JeffJS, I think we are basically on the same page though.

I suspect the PKRemote port will probably fade away as Tomasz focusses his energy on PK_tether. PK_Tether still has a few rough edges but it is still a great effort. Worthy of a PayPal donate

Aha. Things might be tricky for you then.

One way to get PK_Tether to work on a Mac would be to use a Windows emulator that will support .NET, like Parallels Desktop for Mac (?) or investigate the mono project:
Main Page - Mono

At a simpler level, if you just want to see what your camera is capturing on a larger screen, without any direct control over the camera happening, this sort of thing may be an option for you (this is for the K-x but the same thing is possible with just about any recent Pentax):
